Welcome to ShelfCheck. By accessing or using our platform, mobile application, and website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Description of Service

ShelfCheck is a crowdsourced retail execution intelligence platform. Shoppers ("Contributors") submit photographs of retail shelves in exchange for micropayments. Brands ("Clients") subscribe to receive AI-analyzed shelf intelligence from those photographs.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use ShelfCheck as a Contributor and at least 18 years old to create a Client account.

3. Contributor Obligations

Contributors agree to: (a) submit only original photographs taken by them; (b) not manipulate, reuse, or fabricate photographs; (c) comply with store policies regarding photography; (d) provide accurate GPS data.

4. Payments

Contributors are credited immediately upon photo submission ("optimistic payout"). If AI analysis or manual review determines a photo is fraudulent or unusable, the credit may be clawed back. Minimum cashout is $5.00 CAD. Gift card cashouts receive a 25% bonus.

5. Client Subscriptions

Clients pay monthly subscription fees based on their plan tier. Subscriptions auto-renew. Clients may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period.

6. Intellectual Property

By submitting photos through ShelfCheck, Contributors grant ShelfCheck an irrevocable, worldwide license to use, analyze, store, and distribute the photos and derived data to Clients.

7. Fraud & Termination

ShelfCheck uses AI analysis, perceptual hashing, GPS verification, and trust scoring to detect fraud. Users found engaging in fraudulent activity will have their accounts terminated and balances forfeited.

8. Limitation of Liability

ShelfCheck is provided "as is". We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email, phone number
• Photos submitted through the app, including GPS metadata
• Device information: device model, OS version, unique device fingerprint
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration
• Payment information: processed securely via Stripe (we do not store card numbers)

How We Use Your Data

• To operate the ShelfCheck platform and process payments
• To analyze submitted photos using AI for retail intelligence
• To detect and prevent fraud (GPS verification, photo hashing, trust scoring)
• To improve our service and develop new features
• To communicate with you about your account and tasks

Data Sharing

We share AI-analyzed shelf data (not raw photos) with Client subscribers. We do not sell personal information. We may share data with service providers (AWS, Stripe, OpenAI) for platform operations.

Data Retention

Photos are stored for up to 12 months. Account data is retained while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion request.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting privacy@shelfcheck.ca.
